Born in Harare in 1982,grew up in Bulawayo ,Zimbabwe has always been destined for a career on stage. As early as 4 years of age Lucia was learning and performing both ballet and piano. No surprise then that she feels very much at home in Galway City with it's vibrant Arts scene. In the last number of years she has acted in some highly acclaimed Galway Youth Theatre productions such as Animal Farm, Our Country's Good,' and 'The Crucible' as part of Galway Arts Festival. She used to gig regularly as vocalist with Calle Latina (salsa band) and E-Day (a rock covers band) and has also starred in Galway 's Renmore Panto, clearly demonstrating her versatility as a performer. Anyone who has seen & heard her perform will recognize that Lucia is a natural talent, combining her fantastic stage presence with her amazing voice. One of Lucia's proudest moments was performing for Nelson Mandela at Galway 's Radisson SAS Hotel. Since going on to win You're A Star Lucia has been genuinely amazed with the level of encouragement & support she is getting in her home town of Galway and throughout Ireland. Lucia became the first female artist to win the competition. Winning the competition has meant Lucia has been in demand, performing and making personal appearances all around the country. Some of the highlights as of yet, have been performing at the Special Olympics in the Odyessey arena, aswell as singing on numerous TV shows. Lucia's dream is to become a successful recording and touring artist, to be happy in life and to one day, marry her soul-mate Shane. One thing is certain, Lucia was born a performer and her natural talent will ensure a successful future. Lucia Evans' first single, "Bruised Not Broken", was released slightly later than originally expected. The single also contains "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" and "Would I Lie to You". It entered the Irish charts on 20 April at #5.
As of July 2006, Lucia Evans is no longer with Sony Ireland her record company. She is under new management and still has a publishing deal.
Lucia Evans is managed by MDM artists in Dublin, who have always been her management. Also she was never with Sony in terms of a record deal, she was with Universal, she still has a publishing contract with Sony ATV.
