Mizchif began his journey to hip-hop stardom Upon moving to New York since 1989 where he stayed for six years attending school and learning the music strings there,he then changed names from Tribestar to Buzz, Cha-lover to finally the present which suits him and thats MIZCHIF taken from dictionary as the pronunciation of the word "mischief",In Syracuse, New York at the age of 12 he hooked up with a crew called Soul Pack who had a basement studio,freestyling, on stage, playing to a crowd at an early age, growing up in New York he listened to the likes of Salt ‘n’ Pepa .In 1994 he and producer Peter Christensen teamed up and produced a slamming remix of United States crew Goodie Mobb's World Party track. When he moved to South Africa at 18 after his father had got a job as a lecturer at the University of Cape Town.During that time he released his debut album in 1999— Life from All Angles , Becoming the first artiste in the history of the Southern Africa region to popularise hip-hop . Mizchif is considered one the greatest rappers to come out of Zimbabwe. South Africa got to know of Mizchif the rapper when he dropped out of his social work studies at the University Cape Town. He got on a bus to Johannesburg where he became a household name on the Rap Activity Jam (a hip-hop show on Yfm where rappers were given a platform to showcase their talents). Soon after he released his EP assisted to record with DJ Fresh, Life From All Angels, which spawned the hit “Fashionable” and “Place For A Wife”, later released in the States under DJ Bobbito’s Fondle’ Em Records. The Motherland got to learn more about Miz when joined the Channel O family as a VJ from 2001 until 2004. ,Mizchif also made advertising jingles for television and radio, such as the famous "Face of Sprite" and "Obey Your Thirst" adverts that are beamed on several channels across Africa,Besides Station he also kept promoting his work, at 206, in the townships. Mizchif signed with Gallo Records and dropped Supernatural (My Return)nominated Best hip hop at the 2003 South African music awards,a 14-track album that featured the jam “Wonderful World”,He teamed up with Mavusana from a kwaito group Oda Meeste, for the album Summertime on Ghetto ruff records which had the infectious hit "summertime".
