Group History:
The boys who were all born in Zimbabwe and are currently based in Auckland, New Zealand, label themselves “African Kiwis”. The group which is comprised of three MCs and one vocalist, bridges two urban genres of music which are; Dancehall/Ragga and Hip-Hop. Growing up in musically inclined environments (i.e. being involved in church/school choirs), has been key in this group’s success in producing quality music to date. The Shottaz came together in 2007, subsequently releasing their debut EP “Game Plan:The Inauguration EP”. 2008 has seen the group reaching greater heights with the support of local producers (High Stakes Records, Force Productions and Payne Productions), releasing an international single “Shottaz pon di way” which has since received much recognition and positive ratings from listeners, DJs and other artists across the globe.

Current Projects: The group has various works in the pipeline including their sophomore EP “The Premiere” (Working Title). They are currently on a mission to promote their music, performing live at a number of notable events including Miss Africa New Zealand. They also have a big line-up of gigs around New Zealand early 2009.
