Well Hello people, let me say it is a great pleasure to finally be able to share and be part of this great site.i dont know why it took me long to know about it but glory be to God who lights up my ways.
Anyway not to waste time,my real name is Anthony Mukanga also known as Tony G in the music circles as a producer.Born on the 2nd of November 1981 in a family of 6 ,i being the first boy,I grew up in a normal family setup with a normal child life,no sad stories to tell and even though they might be there ,they are so insignificant coz our family was made up of happy,loving people and hence it was happiness through out.
My encounter with music started around the age of 10 , it was not the usual being in a church choir or learning how to play any musical instruments,with myself it was more of the passion of knowing how music came to be music and how the whole process was done from writting to instrumental creation and recording till it was on a CD.I wanted to know about transmission of that music from some point,until i could listen to it on our big old time radio.I WANTED TO KNOW !!!!,period.
So the journey began to discovery and yes sir i did discover quite a lot both in theory , in practical and right up to high school i was now a DJ for gigs organised at school and weddings and parties.Towards the end of my high school days i knew what my ambitions were,after completing my O' levels at Thornhill high school in gweru were i was born, by the way i enrolled with the Telone Training College in Harare to undertake studies in TELECOMMUNICATIONS ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING.
3 years went by and i managed to complete up to a certain level and did quite well i should say.Armed now with more technical knowledge,i set out to find out now about recording and the different softwares and equipment .This led me into knowng about Fruity Loops which is a instrumental creating software and this is were my production journey begun.
I loved this software and upto now i still use it for all my productions having gotten to levels with this software and exhausted every thought i would,am currently using FL8 and would not change for anything.
Anyway i produced my first single in which i was the artist coz no one knew of me yet so i had to start from somewere.......'my self',the single called Bata Musoro exploded onto the music scene in Zimbabwe and people went wild.Everywere radio,buses,parties,households,weddings,clubs it was Tony G's track and thus was the birth of the producer Tony G,What i think also made me popular and made people enjoy my productions was the abilty to be versatile and production of some PHAT beats as it would be said to describe something well done and worth your money and time .
Why the name Tony G you might ask,well i knew people would try and discourage me if they knew wat i was upto, so i chose a different use as i embarked on my new found proffession and hobbie and it worked.Tony from Anthony and G from Groove Dj which was my Deejay title.So there i was 2003 i established Baseline studio and the response from guys wanting to record was overwhelming.
Its been six years now and i have produced for a large number of artists that include the likes of Nasty Trix,Madiz,PoZee and Sku,Souls of Africa and to date i have even produced artistes Plaxedes Wenyika,Maskiri,Stunner and all the other artists from all over Zimbabwe with a few productions from Botswana.
So you might want to know what is taking place now,well am happy to announce the establishing of a bigger and better production house now to be known as Baseline Multimedia Company.This company shall see the bring of all music services under one roof.What do i mean,this means we have broadend our wings into Video Production,CD/DVD Duplication,Graphic Designing,Photo Shoot Platforms and into Marketing and Distrubution of music.So if you are an artists doing business with us it means you getting all services under one roof.
2009 brings more productions from old and new artists and a better me in production and am also looking to take in trainees into production and impart some of that talent God gave me.As for my personal life,am married to my biggest critic but explosive supporter mutually and in business,the keeper of my heart and love,Ruby and we got 2 little sweet boys ,Anenyasha and Anotida.We are a loving little family and are strong christian believers.We love our God and put him first in all we do.
