Abisha Makombe is the name , from the midlands city of Gweru he becons his existance.Born on the 25 of Aug 1979 in Gweru the man went through his education days like any other child would ,first at Bumburwi primary the to Matinunura high school for his O'Levels.Thornhill high school is were the man finally did his A Levels and everything else that needed to be done there (I wonder what,he he he).
His music career now followed and in 2001 Abisha become a member of a group called Romeo which saw the release of a single called 'Consider My Feelings" coming from the group.The single was an instant hit in Zimbabwe at the time making its way onto the Top 20 music charts on PowerFm and rising to number 1 and 2 positons as its highest rating.The group Romeo was an RnB outfit and specialised in love ballads mostly.(Ladies men,he he he)
But the man,Abisha still was not satisfied and maybe he felt he had a different sound altogether that he had at heart and indeed that is what he had.2008 saw Abisha going solo and coming up with an album that had totally new sound and this sound is what is now called CHONDE MUSIC in the Baseline Studio circles.Chonde music is the fusion of rhumba,kwasa,house and tropical ryhtms into one and it sounds good i should add.
So here we are with Abisha Makombe ,the Big Man with his 8 track album BHOMBA , it made an entry on the music scene mid 2008 with the first single NDIRE NDIRE causing quite some damage on the music scene,Radio,Clubs,Parties you name it, played Internationally including podcasts and internet radio stations ,Abisha was and is there.Two months later the video to this single was released and that even propelled the guy to instant stardome.The album is a hyped up album with some really groovie tunes on it to keep you dancing and asking for more.The production itself is as usual done by our producer Tony G were this guy is based,there is definately groove going on.
Apart from being a dance album it also touches on the aspects of life and the things that happen in society everyday so you are assured of some meaningful lyrics and not bubble gum from Abisha.The man has plans to establish a company that manufactures music instruments like drums,congas,african mbiras and the like,and also teach young upcoming musicians the aspects of music and becoming an artists,(We need people like this hey). Abisha has a dream to start an organisation that helps the disadvantaged children in his country.He hopes one day to be able to assist these children in their feeding,clothing and schooling(Amen,may God grant him his wish).
